Job Description - Superintendent / Jr. Superintendent

Role & Duties
- Learn Office Processes and Jobsite Procedures used at WDS.
- Follow steps on an assigned workflow.
- Create Overall and 3-Week Schedules with regular updates.
- Travel to jobsites as required. At times it may be multiple locations.
- Setup Jobsite and Establish Files.
- Oversee Safety, Coordination & Pre-install Meetings plus Sign-in Sheets and PPE.
- Communicate with Client via email, text and CRM sharing updates to job activity and schedule.
- Hold In person or virtual meeting with Client to review drawings.
- Participate and Review during the creation of Trade Work Orders.
- Request Inspections and Meet with City Inspectors & related Trade.
- Review daily installation progress and monitoring of Quality Control.
- Tracking CofO, Punchlist and Turnover.
- Assisting with project Closeout Procedures.
- Report to WDS Owner.
Background
- OSHA-30
- Preferably from or very familiar with Arizona and its municipalities.
- Must have ability to run 1-3 person Architectural Staff (allowing Founder to be minimally involved).
- No longer in a School or College Program. (Position is full time)
- Must not have outside practice, ownership, or operation in an outside firm. (This is the one we will want you to gain ownership in).
- Must have Citizenship / Right to work in U.S. (See experience)
Experience
- Preferred to have 3-5 years of trade experience.
- Must have 1-2 years experience as a Super or Junior Super .
- Have worked during this time on project types below.
- Candidate must be able to lead a team of trades people.
- Familiar with Hiring, coordinating and reviewing drawings by Engineering Consultants.
- Office Experience must have been in the U.S.
- Strengths in Client Relations, City Entitlements & Permitting, and Construction Administration.
- Knowledge in critical path schedule & strategies; balancing and evaluation of manpower and budget; projecting workload; and forecasting profitability.
- Ability to work outside the box, be creative and problem solve will be required.
Projects
- Commercial projects, involving both Tenant Improvement and Ground up.
- Familiarity with Retail, Office, Light Medical, Warehouse, Restaurant design & drawings.
- Willing to work on Industrial Projects involving Annual Facility upgrades on Warehouses or production Facilities having Factory Classification.
- No Residential, Condo, Multifamily, Public work or Clean room.
Abilities
- Must be able to read and understand Construction Drawings.
- Able to operate company PC laptop and iPhone.
- Google Workspace a must. (Cloud, Calendar, Email, Sheets, Docs)
- Some Excel and Word (most get translated into G-docs)
- Monday.com, Google Sites & In-house CRMs (we can train you).
- Adobe
Organizational Fit

- Happy at a company with less than 10 people on Staff.
- Comfortable working with Owners, Inspectors, Engineers & Architects.
- Comfortable coordinating with in-house Architectural, Engineering & Pre-Construction personnel.

Hiring Process Requirements

- After review of resumes, at least one virtual interview may be requested.
- After virtual interview(s) an in-person simulation will be required, including: an in-person meet and greet with WDS Team at our office along with a tour of our office and a few of our projects in architectural process and under construction.
- All candidates must be willing to take a personality assessment prior to onboarding.
- All candidates must be willing to undergo a background check prior to onboarding.
- Onboarding is conducted remotely via Gusto for HR.
Compensation
- Salary DOE. (See below)
- Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days.
- Sick and Personal Time after 90 days.
- Vacation after one year.
- Negotiable perks, responsibility, potential future profit-sharing and/or ownership depending on level of responsibility and salary.
