Job Description - Designer Drafter
Education
- Technical School or Institute Certificate minimum.
- Preferably holds a Bachelors Degree.
- Candidate must be proficient with Construction Document creation.
- No longer in University or College Program. (Position is full time)
- Must have Citizenship or Visa/ Right to work in U.S. (See experience)
Experience
- Must have 2 years of previous experience in an architectural office.
- Candidate must be proficient with Construction Document creation.
- Have worked during this time on project types below.
- Office Experience must have been in the U.S.
Projects
- Commercial projects, involving both Tenant Improvement and Ground up.
- Familiarity with Retail, Office, Light Medical, Warehouse, Restaurant design & drawings.
- No Residential, Condo, Multifamily, Public work or Clean room.
Tools
- Must be proficient with AutoCad.
- Revit knowledge a plus (we do some 3d & may be transitioning for CDs.).
- Currently a PC laptop office may be transitioning to Mac 2024.
- Google Workspace a must. (Cloud, Calendar, Email, Sheets, Docs)
- Some Excel and Word (most get translated into G-docs)
- Builder Trend CM software (we can train you).
- Adobe Pro DC
- Photoshop a plus
Organizational Fit
- Excited to work in a Design-Build environment.
- Willing to interact with WDS Team, Engineers, Municipalities and Clients.
- Comfortable coordinating with in-house Pre-Construction and Construction.
Hiring Process Requirements
- Resumes must include a cover letter describing what kind of environment, work-style and position you are seeking, along with what has not made you happy about previous companies where you were employed.
- After review of resumes, at least one virtual interview may be requested.
- After virtual interview(s) an in-person simulation will be required, including: a face to face meet and greet with WDS Team at our office along with a tour of our office and a few of our projects in architectural process and under construction.
- All candidates must be willing to take a personality assessment prior to onboarding.
- All candidates must be willing to undergo a background check prior to onboarding.
- Onboarding is conducted remotely via Gusto for HR.
Compensation
- Salary in $35-55/year range but depends on Experience.
- Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days.
- Sick and Personal Time after 90 days.
- Vacation after one year.
